Kouchibouguac National Park is very representative of the Maritime Lowland natural region. Situated along the Northumberland Strait, on the East coast of New Brunswick, Kouchibouguac National Park offers visitors discovery, seclusion and peace. The estuaries are host to many species of fish, crab and other invertebrates. Here is a surprising video of the American Eel in its natural habitat. Interpreters form Kouchibouguac National Park attempted to take underwater eel footage with the help of a local eel fisherman who had brought over 15 eels and succeeded! This graceful and docile animal is shown under a new light and will defy many popular beliefs! Increasing the knowledge and appreciation from citizens towards the American eel is part of the Action on the Ground Atlantic region multi-park project where we strive to better understand this species.
i seen two of these swimming at tracadie beach on the north shore of pei, probably twice as big as the biggest one here in thickness, and probably about 4-6 feet, scared the shit out of me,
Great job guys!
